Inspired by the work of JMW Turner – shaped by the effects of environmental damage

Figures in a Floating Landscape is a dance, music, sonic soundscape performance with three musicians and four dancers inspired by the later improvisatory sketches of JMW Turner and contextualised by the effects of environmental damage. Peter and Dora’s 3rd collaboration it delves deep into Turner’s later work made when he resided in Kent and contextualises them in relation to today’s climate change, the damage to the coastline, the industrial changes and evolution of the towns he knew so well. It is in 5 sections and has a symphonic like structure with text voiced by ‘the artist’.
